another year older

Christian is 10 years old today! I was going to take lots of pictures but I was busy getting shot by nerf darts. we had a couple friends over for cake and ice cream, good times. He starts Weblows next week so I have to get him a new book. I think I am totaly dropping the ball on the scouting, it seems I just run out of steam after homework and dinner and what little cleaning I do. Sigh!!

Pirate ninjas and employment options

Well Holloween was as mild affair this time around. Christian was a ninja like last year and Nicole was a pirate like the year before.

we did our traditional walk around one of the nicer (richer) neighborhoods with our friends, then went down to the Davis Cemetary (you can look it up on the internet) they are a local family who go all out and decorate thair home like a cemetary with holograms and spooky voices and grave stones, and a 8 foot tall grim reaper walking around. this year they had some dancers dressed up as zombies dancing to thriller every few minutes. the police actually had to block off the street there were so many people. any way g they got way too much candy, I'm already sick of it. and stayed up way to late.

you cant see the Reaper very well but he was cool.

Christian and Nicole had Parent teacher confrences,, they went well Nicole needs to work on her reading skills Christain needs to work on remembering his homework, he forgot the very next day he had homework and didn't tell me till 4 days later on the night (9:30) befor it was due

I.ve managed to keep busy, My Elders quarum president needed a sprinkler system put in his yard so that has kept me busy, and I have been offered a job by another member who has a construction company. this guy only builds pree-sold homes though, so less risk, but that can't start till next week some times. he says he might remember Patricia. from when his older brother was Bishop.
I' am also up for a posistion in a flower mill it has benifits and a little better pay at first but is a union job (wich has it pros and cons) I'm still praying about that.
I've also been helping a spanish speaking family work on their english and the dad and mom of the same family to learn the new family search program on the internet. it is pretty cool.

Christian was getting a little shaggy so we cut a hole in a plastic bag and stuck it over him

He looks a little worried... Nicole was begging me to give him a Mohawk I was considering it

Stuff Sacks and Sunflowers

We were cleaning the room Again when Nicole asked me "whats that bag?" I replied "It's a stuff sack" that of course led to all the bru-ha-ha "What is a stuff sack?" she had to ask. so I showed her! Christian was all for helping so he got it too!

On another Note'
Nicole is a budding artist, here is a class work she did, they are sunflowers. If you look carefully you will see the smallest plant is actually a sprout, " thats a baby plant " she talls me.

she draws all the time, and is very imaginative as

to her subject matter , hamsters (cute) vampires pirates

(scary) and lots of aliens,

Jumping on the band wagon

I have often thought that children emit some sort of hipnotic signal or something to lull anyone, other than their parents (or members of the household), into thinking they are sweet wonderful little angels. parents therefore have to seek out and treasure those times when children really are sweet and wonderful. I am one of those parents who admit freely that my offspring drive me to distraction! But I also acknowledge that they are good kids and I love them immensly, so for all my family out there, I will endevor to record some of our lives and crazieness as the three of us make our way in the world.
